Zvi Brzezinski
Son of Fradil and Yitzhak-Ya’akov, was born on May 16, 1925 in the city of Lask, Poland, to a Hasidic family. The hardships he had experienced since the outbreak of the Second World War, while still young, had strengthened his character and energy. In the Lodz ghetto he was one of the activists in preparing the uprising, which did not take place. In 1944 he was sent to a camp in Braunschweig and worked there as a cook under the name “Hans”. A secret Zionist group was organized in the camp. After the defeat of Germany he moved to Belgium, participated in organizing the “Baderech” pioneering training group and organized convoys for immigration. In 1946 he also boarded the Biriya and was the driving force of the group. He joined Kibbutz Heftzi-Bah, but when his sister left for Israel he left the kibbutz to help her arrange it. He worked in Bnei Brak as a carpenter in the building. After the outbreak of the War of Independence, he enlisted among the first to serve in the Haganah, served in the Alexandroni Brigade and was sent to the Galilee, and as a professional cook he was able to free himself from combat operations. From the Galilee, Zvi-Aryeh was returned to the Tel Aviv area and participated in the conquest of the Tel Litvinsky camp, Hiriya, Sakia, and in the course of the war he was able to take advantage of this privilege. The Arab village of Tira, Tira and Tantura On the 5th of Iyar 5708 (June 5, 1948), in the battle for the village of Kakun, he fell near his anti-tank rifle and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya.
