Zvi, Avraham (Avrami)
Son of-Michael was born on November 13, 1957 in Petah Tikva, where he moved to Nes Ziona, where he attended the “Rishonim” elementary school. Attests that since first grade he has stood out as “a polite child, a good smile on his face, always willing to accept any task beyond what is required of him.” These qualities accompanied him even when he entered the son of-Shemen High School and studied there for four years Avrami also loved the place and also the agricultural work in the cowshed and fodder, and he felt a strong sense of responsibility and motivation in every job he was assigned, and he received a matriculation certificate with a high average grade. From an early age, he was a member of the Maccabi sports association, he preferred basketball to other sports and was assigned to son of Shemen’s basketball team, and his other hobbies were chess and stamp collecting, Who had warmed up from his face and sought his closeness.In early February 1976, Avraham was drafted into the IDF and volunteered to serve in a paratroopers’ unit. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and served as a platoon commander, and shortly after his compulsory service, his father suffered a serious illness and died . It was a difficult time for Avrami. And he volunteered to serve for at least another six months as an officer in the permanent army, and at his request he was given training. Though he was a serious commander, even a little tough, his subordinates loved him for his paternal attitude. The urbanization case put an end to Abraham’s life, and he is only 21 years old. He fell in the line of duty – on the 13th of Adar 1979 (11.3.1979). He was laid to rest in the military section of the Nes Ziona cemetery. He was survived by a mother, two brothers and a sister. Avraham’s direct commander wrote to the bereaved family: “His education at home, his qualities and his service in the paratroopers unit turned him into an excellent officer who served as an example to all of us and to a close friend who always helped to help anyone in need. “Avrami was part of us, and in his death we lost a dear and beloved friend, and the IDF lost an outstanding officer.”
