Zucker, Shmuel (Molik)


Shmuel (Molik), son of Sarah and Moshe Zucker, was born on July 4, 1927 in Tel Aviv, a descendant of a family with many previous generations in Israel, and graduated from the Nes Ziona School and continued his studies at the Max Payne Professional School. He was a member of Hanoar Haoved and participated in the Wingate Night, and during the British siege of Rishpon and Shfayim he tried to break through the siege of the British and was caught. But he tried again and succeeded, and with the outbreak of the War of Independence he left his job as a driver in the Tel Aviv port, enlisted in a sabotage and medic course, served in the Givati ​​Brigade and participated in battles in Tel Aviv and other places. On 13.4.1948, he accompanied armored vehicles to rescue the convoy of doctors who went up to Mount Scopus and there they encountered ambush gangs in Sheikh Jarrah. He was wounded in the head, crawled through the mountains until he arrived at Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus, where he died of his wounds. He was buried in Sanhedria in Jerusalem. On the 26th of Elul 5711 (26.9.1951) he was transferred to the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
