Son of Maurice and Esther was about one year old, the family immigrated to Israel and settled in Acre. Where he completed his eight years of elementary school at Beit Yaakov. Showed tendencies to the carpentry profession, and at an early age he put up wooden objects, spectacularly Yaffa. For about a year he studied at the Philadelphia School of carpentry, but because of the financial conditions at home he was prevented from continuing his studies, and he had to go to work. He worked in a number of places, including Kiryat Steel and the Strauss factory. In May 1971, he was drafted into the IDF, where he was assigned to the Supply Corps, completed his training courses and served as a heavy freight driver in Sinai, and was transferred to a transport base in the north. Their home in Acre was the birthplace of a daughter, and they were saddened by the financial difficulties for which his young family was in. Nevertheless, he tried to fulfill his military duties properly, and he was praised by his superiors as “a good and disciplined soldier.” He hoped that from now on he would be able to bring peace and well-being to his family, and about a month earlier he was caught in the murderous scene of the terrorist squad in the town of Ma’alot, in which sixteen students and a family of three were killed on May 15, 1974. He was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya, Survived by a wife and daughter, mother and father, who died after the fall of their son, two brothers and two sisters. He was friend to all of his friends, was dedicated, responsible and willing to help at all times.
Sloane’s commander wrote to the bereaved family: “The late Sloan served in our unit as a quartermaster and fulfilled his position with honors, faithfully and with devotion. He was a personal example of his friends, dedicated, responsible and willing to help anyone at any time. “
