Zeira, Zvi-Ze’ev (Zvika)


Son of Rachel and Moshe, was born on June 27, 1929 in Tel Aviv. He was the first son of his parents from Poland, members of the Fourth Aliyah, pioneers of rabbinic origin (on the father’s side, he was a descendant of the Rebbe Rabbi Shlomo Rabinowitz, author of Tiferet Shlomo) Zvi graduated from the Balfour elementary school in Tel Aviv In 1947 he completed his professional studies and returned to his parents, who lived in Holon, and from there he enlisted in the service year of the “Notarot” and completed a suitable course in a children’s village and served as a guard in Holon. He was preparing for a pioneering life of fulfillment by fieldwork and garden, craftwork, mechanics, and defense (22.1.1948) Mishmar left seven guards in an open van from Holon to inspect the road to Jerusalem and to secure the passage of a convoy, near the entrance to Yazur, found the road blocked. And were hit by gunfire from an Arab ambush.The van was hit and burned, the guards forced him out, took cover on the side of the road, and fought with better forces until they all fell down. The Moshav Mishmar Hashiva was established, named after them.
