Zehavi, Reuven Shlomo


Son of Rachel and Amram. He was born on the 8th of Elul 5787 (August 1, 1987) in Ashdod, the brother of Sandrin and Nissim, and Reuven was born two of the three children in the family. In 1995, when he was only seven and a half years old, he was orphaned by his father, and his father’s death greatly affected him and his father’s longing never expired, and his mother continued to educate him and his brothers alone, Reuven attended the “Yahalom” religious public school and continued in junior high school at the Neve Herzog Yeshiva in Nir Galim. He was a diligent student and did not need to invest special efforts in order to reap achievements, the main profession in which he excelled in mathematics and he also controlled computers – he knew how to deal with every mishap, Reuven was a shy boy He was very friendly and loved by everyone around him, he loved to spend time with his friends, and his seriousness was expressed on several levels of his life: Neat and well-dressed. Prior to his induction he trained and improved his physical fitness. Reuven was recruited on 25 July 2006 and was assigned to the “Nachshon” battalion of the “Kfir” Brigade – a battalion dedicated to fighting terrorist organizations in the territories. His choice of meaningful and demanding service was not self-evident, and was accompanied by difficulties. But he liked the service in the unit, and proved himself to be a devoted, smart, caring, serious and proactive soldier. He made his friends laugh and influence their smiles. Many of his fellow soldiers even began to pray after him. During his military service, his connection with his family grew stronger. He had a special attitude toward his nephews, and every time he came home on leave he would put down his things and run to see them. Private Reuven Shlomo Zehavi fell during his service on the 17th of Kislev 5767 (17.12.2006), and he is nineteen years old in his fall. He was buried in the military cemetery in Ashdod. Survived by his mother and two brothers. Not a day passes without we mention you and think about you … Love, think and do not forget … Friends! “
