Zarchi, Tzur


Tzur, son of Mina and Nachum Zarchi, was born in 1979 in Nahalal. Tzur began his service in the army in 1998 in a pilot course and then moved to the armored corps. During the course of the year, Tzur served as a commander of a platoon in an operational company and as an assistant to an officer in the 188. He completed a platoon commander course and was assigned to become a company commander in the battalion. On 4 August 2006, and the Second Lebanon War in full swing, Tzur was drafted into reserve duty. On the 19th of Av (August 13, 2006), when an observation post identified a suspicious truck west of the tell, in the area of ​​the “Galgalit” outpost, he opened fire at the truck and fired one shell. An anti-tank missile hit Tzur. Tzur Zarchi was twenty-seven years old when he was laid to rest in the Nahalal cemetery.
