Yitzhak, Yonathan (Yoni)
The youngest son of Aziza and Menahem, was born on November 11, 1963, in Tiberias. Yonatan, who was a Yaffa child with golden curls, began studying at the “Hamad” religious public school in Tiberias. After graduating from this school, he was accepted to the Bnei Akiva yeshiva in the village of Haroah, to the real trend. During his elementary school years, Yonatan was awarded with honors for winning first and second places in long jump and running, as well as in the cup for his soccer team’s achievements. He was also active in the Bnei Akiva religious youth movement, and his hobby was carving wood, and Jonathan left behind him pictures that were made of wood. Jonathan was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early 1981. He volunteered for the Navy, with the aim of being accepted into a combat unit in the corps. Indeed, he passed the acceptance tests and began his training course for fighters. Yonatan was trained in the Paratroopers Brigade and continued his commanding course, and his quiet and comfortable character was expressed in the army as well, and his commanders applauded him: “A quiet soldier has performed every mission in the best possible way. Is beloved to all his friends and is considered to be a person who can be approached with any problem. “On September 16, 1982, Yonatan was killed in a battle in Lebanon during the war for the Galilee, when he felt the strength of the ambush, After his death, he was promoted to the rank of corporal, leaving behind his parents, two brothers and two sisters, and in his condolence letter to the family, his commander indicated Jonathan’s readiness to volunteer for an elite unit. As a fighter in the IDF. A Torah scroll in his name and in his memory was placed in a synagogue in Upper Tiberias.
