Yishai, Uriel


Son of Israel and Joy. He was born on December 5, 1947 in the city of Tunis. His father was chief rabbi in Sousse, Tunisia, from 1956 until the family immigrated to Israel. He graduated from the Alliance high school in Sosa and began his high school studies there. He had a strong love for Israel and when he was 15 years old, and saw that his parents could not immigrate to Israel for family reasons, decided to immigrate alone with Youth Aliyah. He was educated in Kfar Hasidim, a religious youth village, and studied in an agricultural school until 1966. His parents immigrated to Israel in 1965. He was drafted into the IDF in September 1967. His parents did not even know his address until November 1969.
