After completing basic training and after completing a parachute training course, he began the next stage of his training as an assaulting fighter On 23 Iyar 5737 (10.5.1977) Eli, who was killed in the crash of the helicopter in the Jordan Valley, killed 54 soldiers on his birthday (May 12, 1977) and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Rehovot, at the age of nineteen.
