Yekutieli, Amnon (Emuna, Kuti)


Son of Yehudit and Yosef, was born on March 30, 1929 in Jerusalem. His father – one of the builders of the settlement and initiators of the Maccabiah, and his mother – the daughter of Rabbi Akiva Aryeh Weiss, one of the founders of Ahuzat Bayit, is Tel Aviv. In an atmosphere of rising and standing, the child grows proud. In the summer of 1929, his parents left the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood in Jerusalem and moved to Tel Aviv, where Amnon acquired his popular education at the Levanim Municipal School and was well liked by his teachers and his acquaintances with his wit and cleverness. He was a gifted athlete and participated in the basketball team of the Herzliya Gymnasium, and since then he was a member of the Scouts movement and since then he has been active as a dedicated guide in Lev and soul, and at a very young age joined the ranks of the Hagana, He spent his free time from school in kibbutzim, after completing his studies The sixth class at the Herzlia Gymnasium was forced to take part in the burden of supporting the family, while Amnon worked for the Electric Company and continued his studies at the Gymnasium, “Education.” He was a devoted son to his parents, who was quiet, loyal to his friends, Rushed to join them and immediately upon the outbreak of the War of Independence volunteered for the Palmach unit. He spent four months fighting and one of them was wounded, but he kept the matter from his family’s eyes. Later, he was sent to Dalia for a squad commanders’ course, after which his vacation was postponed and he left with a squad of saboteurs for the second attack on the Nebi Yusha fortress, where the saboteurs burst into the building and began placing the explosives. Which resulted in the casualties, the evacuation of the injured persons delayed the explosion, and in the meantime, additional fighters were injured, including the terrorists, and the cargo was not activated. (April 20, 1948.) A month later, his body was discovered and brought to rest in the cemetery in Nebi Yusha.
