Weil, Oded
Ben Uri and Batya. He was born on 6 January 1954 in Hadera and studied at the elementary school in Maayan Zvi, Oded was drafted into the IDF in early August 1972 and was assigned to the Engineering Corps, after basic training and basic training as a platoon commander. He completed a commander’s course and was sent to serve in the Engineering Battalion as a heavy mechanical-engineering equipment operator. Was a dedicated soldier, loved by commanders and soldiers alike. He instilled a pleasant atmosphere in the unit and became the representative of the soldiers to the commanders. Even during the difficult hours of training and operational activity, he remained cool and calm. Together with his comrades, he participated in the Yom Kippur War. On the 21st of Av 5734 (9.8.1974) he fell in the line of duty. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Zichron Yaakov. Survived by his parents and two brothers. His family and friends published a pamphlet in his memory, edited by the religious officer Simon Meguri.
