Wax, Moshe


Moshe (“Taxi”), son of Henia and Yitzhak, was born on October 1, 1946. He grew up in the Kiryat Yosef neighborhood of Givatayim, in an environment of a rural character and grew up in the “Borochov”. He was a member of the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed youth movement in the Borochov branch, was very active in the branch, and was a very active member of the Hanoar Hazioni youth movement. He was loved by his instructors, friends, and apprentices, and his best friends were members of the youth movement, and he was an avid music lover. Moshe was drafted into the IDF at the end of July 1965, and as a member of the “Shikma” nucleus of Hanoar Haoved joined the Nahal Brigade, but after he was recruited a year after his membership in the nucleus, he decided to stay in a full military framework. After completing a course for commanders and infantry officers, he was appointed as a guide in the Negev Infantry Officers’ School and served as the commander of the spearhead of the force which moved on foot towards the Um-Katef area and was one of the first soldiers. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant after the war, and after a while he took part in a parachuting course and a course for basic intelligence officers and was appointed assistant to an intelligence officer in the Khan Yunis district, where he became familiar with the area and established good relations with the local population. In a battle that took place on the 11th of Tishrei 5734 (7.10.1973), he commanded a tank company in the area of ​​the oil pipeline south of Nafah, where he was killed. Survived by a wife, daughter and son, parents and two sisters.
