Vissrosen, Ephraim (Naftali)


Ephraim (Naftali), son of Chava and Mordechai Vissrosen, was born on December 24, 1921 in the city of Kalinetov, Poland. He studied in cheder and other schools, and later worked as an electrician. The years of the Holocaust were spent in Russia and Germany. Ephraim was the only remnant left of his family. He arrived in Israel with his wife in August 1947. Ephraim was careful to speak with truth and integrity, but it was always wrapped in humor.
As an experienced electrician Ephraim served in the sabotage department of the auxiliary company in the Oded Brigade and participated in all the battles. He participated in the mining of the road from Faluja to Hebron. Ephraim was killed on the 20th of Tishrai, October 23, 1948, when a landmine exploded where he was standing. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kfar Warburg, leaving behind a wife and daughter.
