Son of Haim and Naomi, was born on March 3, 1930 in Jerusalem to a Yemenite family, Amla and Avila, who studied Talmud Torah for the Yemenites and graduated with honors from the Mizrachi Talmud Torah, Where he joined the Haganah and continued with his return to Jerusalem, where he joined the Palmach in the War of Independence and took part in daring operations around Jerusalem. He was among the members of the “Halachah” platoon, Palmach and Hachash fighters who were sent as reinforcements to Gush Etzion after the large attack on the Bloc on January 14, 1948. The fighters set out from Hartuv on the night of January 15-16 and are loaded with weapons, ammunition and equipment , But due to the late hour of departure and the difficulties of the road, they were unable to reach Gush Katif in the middle of the night, and were discovered by villagers in the area of ​​Beit Natif, Jaba and Surif, Battle Hill “today) and fought with the masses of Arabs until they all fell in battle on the day of the 15th of Shevat 5708 (16.1.1948). David Hai fell in this battle. He was seventeen and a half. He was buried in a mass grave in Kfar Etzion.
