Not long after that, a suicide bomber from the Hamas organization arrived wearing an explosive belt and carrying a bag containing metal shrapnel, and blew himself up at the soldiers and civilians standing at the hitchhiking station. Liron suffered a serious injury to her head and was rushed to Assaf Harofeh Hospital. Eight soldiers and soldiers were killed in the attack, and dozens were injured. On the 19th of Cheshvan 5764 (19.11.2003) Liron died of her wounds, and she is nineteen and a half years old. The next day she was laid to rest in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery. She left behind her parents and two brothers. After her fall she was promoted to sergeant.
