Shor, Meshulam
Meshulem, son of Rivka and BenZion Shor, was born in 1912 in Eastern Galicia. In 1934, he earned a certificate from the Agudath Israel that he had fulfilled his quota of work for their organization, and was therefore able to immigrate to Israel. At the outbreak of the 1936 riots, he joined the Haganah. He was one of the best fighters against the Arab gangs, and later was the Sergeant responsible for the guards guarding the British army barracks in Kiryat Motzkin. He was eventually transferred to the regular police and served as a Sergeant in the vicinity of Haifa. Meshulem aided the underground in its activities against the foreign government and at the outbreak of the War of Independence, he did his best to protect his area in the police service. He served in the Carmeli Brigade until he fell on the 4th of Sivan (11.6.1948) and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
