Shinar, Noam

Shinar, Noam

Ben Henia and Haim, brother to Yael, Nili and Yoav. Born on August 11, 1974 in the city of Ashdod. In his first year of study, Noam studied at the Shazar elementary school in Ashdod, after which his family moved to South Africa, where he continued his studies, and when Noam was eleven, the family returned to Israel, When Noam was fifteen years old, he was accepted to the military school near the “Reali School” in Haifa, where he studied in the real-world track and joined the Yahav company.was an avid sports enthusiast and was actively involved in Rugby (in the framework of a squad) Soccer and judo At the beginning of January 1993, Noam enlisted in the army, and after a while he began an aviation course, and in December 1994 he successfully completed the course and became a transport pilot. He completed his compulsory service in January 1996. After an advanced training course, Noam was apprenticed to a transport squadron where he began his career as a pilot, and on Passover eve, April 3, 1996, he was diagnosed with cancer. On November 23, 1996, he was laid to rest in the military section of the Ashdod cemetery and was promoted to the rank of captain after his death, when Noam was 22 years old and left behind his parents, Two sisters, a brother and a friend. The commander of the squadron, Lt. Col. Eyal, eulogized him about his grave and described Noam’s struggle: “I remember the motorcycle accident and then the discovery of the disease. You were strong, and with your strength and strength, you supported those around you, my parents, my sisters, my brother, my friends. We all drew our strength from you. You did not give in, you did not give up, you did not believe that the end was near. You fought a disease like you did when you were on a mission. Even in the most difficult moments, in your sleep or hallucination, you continued to fly and live with us. That’s it, now you’re flying, you look at us from the bird’s-eye view. High, but not too high, alone, but not alone. “In a certificate of honor and honor that was given to the family after his death, Major General Gideon Sheffer wrote:” Noam saw his service as a mission and carried it with devotion and love. He devoted himself to increasing the strength of the IDF and cultivating its spirit, while the good of the state was in front of his eyes, the contribution of his life was great and the mission of his life was cut short upon his death. ” “Noam loved every moment in the squadron and every moment in the air, he loved the hard work and enjoyed his days and nights for the squadron.” In this age of lack of motivation, which is so spoken in the media, it is hard for me to point out many soldiers doing their work Noam is an example of a person who, with a whole heart, can say that he did a lot of what he did, out of a national duty and a desire to make a contribution. Noam’s father, Haim, described his son’s struggle with the disease: “At your head, my son, I stood / and saw how before my eyes / the cancer conqueror was still standing in your body / How was another layer added to the wall of your suffering? I am short of savior / I see your standing bravely / in the cruel test whose end has already been decided / I am thrilled and I understand how worthy you have been all my life.
