Shalom, Sima


Daughter of Carmeli and Ahuva. She was born on the 22nd of Tishrei, October 15, 1949 in Jerusalem. She studied at the Bar-Ilan elementary school, in the capital. She always had the will to help others and was ready to do so at any time. During the Six-Day War, she organized all her friends and urged them to donate blood. She discovered her love for children during the war, while sitting in the shelter, holding the children on her knees, telling stories, making them forget everything outside. Sima studied dentistry and worked with an expert professor. In April 1968, she joined the army in the Medical Corps. She worked diligently, She fell in the line of duty on the 2nd of Elul, August 25, 1968, and was brought to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Her commander wrote in a letter of condolence to her parents: “Although she did not manage to serve for a long time with us, in the short time she was with us, she managed to become fond of all of us in her joy of life. She fulfilled her duty with the dedication and obedience of the commanders.”
