Prior to joining the IDF, he received a summons for tests for elite units, and in early 1991 he joined the IDF and volunteered for the parachuted Nahal Brigade, where he went through the difficult route and continued to the battalion’s “Granit” company, which never complained of difficulties and enthusiasm. His period of service changed Yossi both physically and externally, from a delicate and shy boy to a man, and his father and his friends tried to persuade him to serve near the house to help his mother overcome her tragedy.
