Yosef (Yossi), son of Leah and Meir, was born on 24.12.1952 in Kibbutz Gat, where he studied at the elementary school and at the high school in Gat Gal-On, and was active in social life, He was one of the members of the Hashomer Hatzair movement and later became the head of the Kibbutz Gat and Galon, and was a witty and mischievous boy with a sense of humor and a sharp response. He was always an entrepreneur, a planner, and an innovator, and he was very sharp-minded and agile, and he had many talents in practice. He was honest, honest and conscientious, and from his youth he excelled in kindness and brotherhood, always caring for his friends and being loyal to them, helping everyone He was an avid reader and devoted every hour of leisure, wherever he was found, to the IDF in early November 1970 and volunteered for the Armored Corps. After basic training, he took a course in the “Centurion” tank and was an outstanding trainee, and in a course for tank commanders. He was successful in his unit and was soon sent to an officers ‘course and later took part in an armored officers’ course, in which he was also an outstanding trainee. His commander testified that he was “a talented, thorough, dedicated and entrepreneurial officer, a very responsible person, with solid professional knowledge, stable in difficult situations, who knows how to serve as a personal example to his subordinates and loyal to his commanders. When we reached the edge of the area we had, the first tank, where Yossi was sitting, opened fire on the tank, and he was killed on the spot, right at the end of the navigation mission to the area, which was in the hands of our forces. ” He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kibbutz Gat.
