Sapir, Hezi (Yehezkel)

Sapir, Hezi (Yehezkel)

Ben Amalia and Jacob Stretz. He was born on November 27, 1958 in Givatayim. Brother to Miri. Hezi was born to parents who survived the Holocaust. He grew up in a loving, supportive and warm family. The house was a small family unit, with no grandparents, no uncles, aunts and cousins, but the cell was a whole world, a house full of joy, and the children were the center. For their sake, the parents did everything, under any circumstances and in any situation, and yet it was clear that there were limits and limitations. A house in which they did not try to push, prevent or change, but rather let it grow with support, backing, encouragement and lots of love. At home they educated Zionism, the uncompromising love of the land and the understanding that there is no other place in the world, and this is our homeland. Already as a child, a number of traits stood out in my chest, which became milestones in his life: honesty, insistence on principles, curiosity and creativity, thoroughness, seriousness and loyalty, along with mischief and adventurism. Each task he took on himself performed meticulously, thoroughly and with maximum investment and without compromise. Hazi had a wonderful memory, he was interested in many fields, and therefore he had a broad and comprehensive knowledge of many subjects, such as history, politics, literature, cinema, sports and art. His hobbies, which accompanied him throughout his life, also began in childhood – reading, collecting, love for sports, nature and hiking. As a baby, every object in the house was transformed, with great imagination, into a toy and a toy. During the kindergarten and early elementary school, Hezi invested time and energy in various collections, and his favorite collection was collecting stamps. He was caught up in the matter, and the whole family took part in the operation. Every Friday, at a regular ceremony, the stamps were removed from the envelopes, collected during the week. In this hobby he continued until his enlistment, and now there are many albums in his closet, arranged and organized. When he was little, he liked to be told stories. After he acquired the reading began to “swallow books.” Every book called by Hezi and Father was thoroughly analyzed. His love for reading also accompanied him during his military service. In the few moments of respite that characterized his activity, he took a book and read it. The call, from his point of view, was detachment and “clean-up.” At the age of nine Hezi joined Hapoel Ramat Gan’s football team, where he played for three years. Twice a week he practiced and on Saturday, early in the morning, Abba and Hazi would travel to different cities for games of the Children’s League. After a while the whole family took part in the soccer game – everyone went to the national park in Ramat Gan. Mother and Miri – foxes, Hezi and Dad – actors, and instead of the gate – shoes. Hezi loved sports. In addition to practicing sport, he read and became familiar with the history of sport in the world and became a great expert on the subject. He was an athlete by nature and was trained in sports such as diving, rappelling, surfing, surfing and skiing. From the age of twenty he also began folk dancing. Two years after he began to dance, he was offered a dancer accompanied by an Arvision. In the department of folk dancing at the university he met Arnit, who later became his wife. One of the principles upon which he had stood as a child was that only Hebrew would be spoken at home. As he grew older, when he understood the significance of the Holocaust and Germany’s responsibility for the annihilation of the Jews in Europe, he decided to boycott everything related to Germany and its products, and he kept it strictly. At an early age, he began to travel with his family throughout the country, and when he grew up he knew every road, road and path. His love of nature and hiking and his deep familiarity with the landscapes of the country was a great thing among his many friends: “A trip with Hezi was a wonderful experience that you do not forget, always interested in everything, working with all your senses, always in a good mood and always ready to help.” In his thirties, he began making trips to magical places around the world – to the Far East, South America, Europe and the United States. My chest had many friendsFor him, the concept of friendship was loyalty over time. He understood that friendship was not self-evident, and he knew how to maintain and nurture the bonds with his many friends, many of whom had accompanied him since childhood. Hezi attended the “Gordon” elementary school in Givatayim and the “Kalai” high school in a realistic direction. Already in the seventh year he began preparing for the draft, in order to be accepted into an elite unit. The agenda was influenced, and sometimes even dictated, according to the schedule: a few miles, exercises on stress, weight lifting and a trip to the Country Club to swim. As recruitment approached, Hezi stopped watching television to keep his eyes. Hezi swept these activities many of his friends. In February 1977, he enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces, where he served for two years and served as an officer in the Paratroopers Brigade. His soldiers from that period tell him that the basic concept that led the team was self-discipline, and they felt a sense of pride and confidence. During his military service, the family home was a meeting place for the soldiers. Hezi took part in Operation Litani, in raids deep into Lebanese territory, which were in the period between the Litani operation and the Lebanon War, and even participated in the Lebanon War itself. He was wounded in this war and, after a short recovery, voluntarily returned to the front. After his discharge from compulsory service, he continued to serve for many days every year in reserve service, as an officer in the paratroopers. After completing his military service in 1981-1984, he studied for a bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Agriculture in Rehovot. He specialized in food technology and graduated with honors. For each examination, friends gathered at the family home and, according to them, always waited for a solution. During his studies he served as a Perach mentor and wrote questions and answers to the Teletext pages of educational television, and to this day Hezi’s material has been documented and broadcast, and in 1986-1988 he studied at the Hebrew University for a master’s degree in chemical technology management. In joint studies of academia and industry, from the point of view of the industry. “His work received great acclaim and was distributed among university researchers, and he graduated with honors from the lecturer who guided Hezi in his work:” I was amazed by his strong personality and sweeping leadership. Hezi was an excellent student with rare abilities and excellent analytical ability. “After completing his studies, he worked as a chief technologist and laboratory manager at Kaniel, and in his work he aspired to professional perfection in a combination of very good interpersonal relations, Which he created with all the workers, the customers and the suppliers, and according to his colleagues: “In his special, gentle and noble way, he combined unusual authority and knowledge with personal friendships, endless energy and endless dedication. And after three years together in Tel Aviv they married in August 1991. This period was characterized by exposure to the variety of cultural activities in the city, and this too was done thoroughly: watching films, In three years, their daughter, Noa, was born and the family moved to Kfar Saba, and his father, who was not the first to show emotion, radiated happiness that swept the people around him on Sunday, On 6 November 1994, Hezi was called up for reserve duty and went with his unit to the Gaza Strip to protect the communities on the confrontation line in the Gaza Strip and to secure the The road to the settlement of Netzarim was the first period after the Oslo Accords and the security arrangements were not yet in placeClear properly. The atmosphere in Gaza was very tense after the assassination of one of the senior members of the Islamic Jihad. On Friday, 11 November 1994, Hezi toured the area with other officers, and they traveled to brief the soldiers on the possibility of a breach of the peace order following a notice regarding the demonstration that was about to reach the Netzarim junction. And returnees, local Muslims and settlers from Netzarim, IDF soldiers and Palestinian policemen. They got out of the jeep and headed for the post, and at that moment a suicide bomber, riding a bicycle carrying five kilograms of explosives, was killed in the explosion. Was buried in the Kiryat Shaul Military Cemetery at the age of 36. He was survived by his parents, sister Miri, Raya, Arnit, and Bat Pa’uta – Noa, in memory of Hezi, a memorial book containing a collection of excerpts written by family members, And photographs of photographs taken by Hazi during his many trips to commemorate Hezi, a man of the expanses and nature.
