Rosner, Aryeh

Aryeh, son of Shoshana and Yosef, was born on August 31, 1940 in Haifa. He studied at the Achdut elementary school in Kiryat Motzkin and then continued his studies at Kibbutz Ein Dor. His teachers and elementary school friends remember him as a good-hearted, quiet and honest boy who was loved by everyone. During the three years of his studies in the kibbutz, his character developed and he became a cheerful, sociable boy, intelligent and humorous, though mischievous and sometimes mischievous. By nature he was optimistic and kept his cool even in difficult situations. He was always willing to help others with deeds or with good advice. He began to cultivate his passion for dancing, became an excellent dancer and organized the local dance troupe. He also liked singing and space, but most of all he loved the sea and because of his love he returned to town and until his enlistment was in the Gadna in Haifa, he was an avid sports fan, he played well in basketball and used to watch various competitions. Arieh was drafted into the IDF at the end of April 1958 and assigned to the Navy. After basic training, he took a course in motor mechanics and spent most of his service in the Sea of ​​Galilee, securing fishermen and participating in routine security missions. He was a good soldier, carried out his duties with dedication and readiness and was admired by his commanders and his comrades in the unit. After his discharge from the army, he joined the merchant fleet and visited many countries. In 1963 he left the sea and decided to build a house for himself. He married his girlfriend Ilana, took a course from Nufers and began working for Solel Boneh. He was also highly respected by his employers. Two children were born to him and he did not know his soul for joy and happiness. He was a devoted father to his children and a loyal husband to his wife, and he always found time to help her with housework. But he devoted most of his time to his children. For hours he played and played with them and his son taught to ride a bicycle and play soccer and basketball. With both of his talented hands he renovated and beautified his house. He was very responsible and independent, did not need the help of a person and everyone who arrived, on his own. He always made do with little, but his family aspired to give all the best in the world. He and his wife were a Simcha couple, many of whom went out and spent time and everywhere and were the living spirit Aryeh. He did not neglect his parents either, visited them often and helped them with action and encouragement and was their support in old age. In the reserves he served in a marine engineering unit and every time he was called to the service he became the center of the unit, took care of all the soldiers’ needs and even installed a shower of hot water. He also participated in the Six Day War. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Aryeh was called to service and took part in battles in the framework of the Mediation Battalion. After the end of the war, he was with his unit at the naval base in Lake Hammer, and one day was wounded while carrying out his duties. For three days he fought for his life at the hospital in Tel Hashomer and died on January 29, 1974. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa, leaving behind a wife, son and daughter, mother and sister. He was promoted to the rank of corporal, and his close friends published a pamphlet in his memory, which included things about his character.
