Rosenbaum, Itzik

Son of Eva and Jacob. Born on August 25, 1978 in Rehovot. The eldest son of his parents, was named after his mother’s mother, Eva, who was orphaned at the age of nine years. After Itzik his sisters Limor and Yifit were born, and his brother Eyal. “The pampering the baby received from every neonatal staff was amazing,” says his father, “because if she was not just a woman, she was a friend and one of the nurses on the team.” The special attention continued at home, when Ohava invested in building long hours reading books, lego assemblies and various puzzles. Itzik grew up in Kiryat Malachi. Already in kindergarten he stood out in his many knowledge, knew the names of plants, trees and birds. Afterward he studied at the elementary school of the brothers and in the municipal high school, and stood out for his perseverance, his investment and his accomplishments. He graduated high school with a high school diploma and a five-year matriculation certificate in sociology. Itzik was a gentle boy. When he signed up for the Karate class he retired after a short time, claiming he was not ready to be a punching bag. On the other hand, at the age of eight and a half he enrolled in the organ playing department, and immediately discovered his great talent. He returned happily from every lesson, demanded to attend additional classes, demanded and received an organ at home. It turned out that Itzik had an amazing musical ear and an even more astonishing memory for the melodies he had heard. Every few months he would get bored with the music department and move on to a more advanced class until he arrived and was the best in the most advanced class. He studied in groups until age 12, participated in many concerts and received many compliments from those around him. His music was excellent and refined, and he was based on his wonderful musical hearing, without the need for notes – enough for Itzik to hear a melody once, and he would immediately play it himself perfectly. From his first day in the music department, Itzik played organ, sometimes electric guitar. Even when he was on vacation from the army he would sit next to the organ and play for hours without stopping, and so releases and calms himself. In addition to playing, Itzik wrote and composed many songs. Thanks to his musical hearing and excellent memory, he hardly wrote them on paper, but he engraved them in his head and it was enough for him to play them perfectly. In his youth, Itzik was a member of the Scouts movement, went on trips and camping in nature and participated in the movement’s activities, which were meant to help others. He enjoyed his ability to be independent and responsible for operations in the movement, as he liked to be responsible and prudent in his home. Itzik took part in buying decisions for him, was not extravagant and wasteful and knew how to choose wisely organ, computer, guitar and more. Itzik participated in many sports, including basketball and tennis. But the game he loved and invested most in all was football, especially the role of goalkeeper. He was a great goalkeeper, and the friends argued over who would play for his team. He was not only a player, but also a fan of the Beitar Jerusalem team, and from an early age he collected material from the newspapers about the players and coaches, watched games on the radio and television and when he could, went to the games. In March 1997, Itzik was drafted into the IDF and became a combat soldier in the combat engineering corps of the company, the company “Robayat Dolev”. He was very attached to life in the army and friends he had acquired, and was happy all the time he served. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in September 1999. His commander, Lt. Col. Moti, said: “Itzik served in my unit as a combat soldier in a combat company and was considered to be the mainstay of his comrades. He was admired by his comrades in the battalion, who were glad that he had fallen to serve alongside him. ” About a year after his induction into the IDF, the family moved to Moshav Tamorim. Itzik met new friends and began planning academic studies at the end of his service. On the 17th of Shevat 5701 (14.1.2000), Itzik was killed while serving at the age of 20. He was buried in the military section of the cemetery in Moshav Timurim, and was survived by his parents, two sisters and a brother. “There are times when you do not know what you want and life goes on like this / And you’re wasted for that.” More times pass / More times go by and you see nothing happening here. Sometimes you’re happy / Sometimes you’re sad / And you never know / Are you bad or good / But do not worry / It’ll be all right / The light will come / And you’ll see, it’ll still be good. “Itzik’s comrades- wonder See, convened a book with the memories of the service. Benny writes: “Already after the first introduction I’ve seen you a true friend faithful, which attracts the attention on the hearts of those around with mischief and nonsense. “I remember sitting with you once and talking about life and the army, and you told me one sentence until my last day I’ll remember – ‘My goal is to make people “Tomer:” I am sure that in time this memory will not be erased, and the special relationship between the family and the company’s soldiers will not be broken … May the spirit and special character of Itzik (Flaubert) remain etched into the world In the operational history of Dolev. “
