Rosen, Baruch

The only son of Aryeh and Shifra. Was born on January 16, 1932 in Tel Aviv and was named after his grandfather who was killed in Jaffa by Arab rioters during the 1929 riots. He attended the “Green” school and the Shalva high school in Tel Aviv. He was a gifted child from his early years. He was interested in literature and history, and he read many nights and even wrote, sometimes, works in an excellent literary style. He was a member of the Mahanot Ha’olim youth movement. In 1949, when he was in seventh grade in high school, all seven students were enlisted and Baruch was one of the first to report to the enlistment office, but because of his youth he was not accepted into the army and had to wait until he graduated from high school. Baruch was drafted into the IDF in mid-May 1950 and took an officer’s course, and in the last year of his service in the IDF, he began to visit Arabs in Tel Aviv University’s law faculty. After being released from the army, he moved to a university in Jerusalem where he was ordained as a lawyer. In addition to his professional work as a lawyer with extensive legal knowledge, he was elected to the Tel Aviv Bar Association. Thanks to his honesty, he gained many friends who respected and respected him. He participated in the Sinai Campaign and in the Six-Day War. On April 20, 1971, he was called up for reserve duty for one day and fell while carrying out his duties as a landowner, and was promoted to the rank of Captain from the day he fell. He placed a parents, a wife, a son and a daughter who were devoted to him with all his Lev and soul and was brought to rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
