Robinovich, Omer (Israel)

The youngest son of Rina and Ze’ev. Born on the 8th of Tishrei, September 20, 1985, in Arad. For two years he participated in a combat fitness class in preparation for the IDF. Omar joined the “Egoz” unit on November 12, 2004. Four months before the end of his military service, he decided to go to an officers’ course. During his service he arrived at the soldiers’ forum in the “Ort Arad” high school, in order to encourage 11th and 12th graders to enlist in combat units in the IDF. Omer Robinovich was killed in a battle in the Gaza Strip during Operation Cast Lead on the 12th of Teves, January 8, 2009. He was twenty-three years old. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Arad. Survived by his parents and two sisters. He was promoted to captain after his death.
