Rimshon, Raphael-Gershon (Grishka)

Raphael-Gershon (Grishka), son of Devorah and Moshe Rimshon, was born in 1905 in Divinsk, Latvia. In September 1929 he immigrated to Israel. During the bloody riots of 1936-1939 he was injured. The bullet crushed several teeth and cut his tongue, and only after prolonged treatment could he eat and talk again without interruption. In the middle of the winter of 1948, after a night of guard duty, Grishka drove on the morning of the 10th of Adar 2 (March 21, 1948) to the meeting of the Gush Etzion Committee in Safed and was killed on the road between Rosh Pina and Safed. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Kfar Giladi.
