Ravi’a, Avraham (“Avi”)
Son of Moshe and Margalit. He was born in Tel Aviv on October 2, 1949. He was recruited to the IDF at the beginning of November 1967 and assigned to the Ordnance Corps. After basic training he worked in the army for a certain period of time as a mechanical frame. He was then assigned to the rank of lieutenant colonel, and was assigned a platoon and an officer’s course in the Ordnance Corps, where he was charged with handling heavy anti-aircraft systems and received very positive assessments from his commanders. He was promoted to the rank of captain, and spent many years in active reserve duty, including the Yom Kippur War, and on 18 November 1978 he fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He left behind a wife, son, and daughter, parents, three sisters and a brother.
