Radvinovich, Dov (Dovaleh)
Dov (Dovaleh), son of Rivka and Shlomo, was born on January 16, 1952 in Ramat Gan. In Ramat Gan. He graduated from elementary school in Ramat Gan. Afterward, he studied for two years at the agricultural school in Pardes-Hanna. He moved to Dvir High School in Ramat Gan and completed high school at Ankori School in Tel Aviv. Dovale, as his family and friends called him, was the eldest son of the family, so his parents and older brothers treated him as a child. He was loved not only by the family but by everyone they knew. But the indulgence, the extra love, and the special attitude did not affect his character, and he remained modest, self-contained and quiet. He never boasted, did not try to stand out, and even refused to hear praise from anyone else. But he rewarded his family with love for the special treatment they had given him. He had a good heart, always willing to help others without expecting change. Dovale loved life, wanted to enjoy every moment and knew how to make the most of every experience and event. At the same time, he was endowed with a degree of closeness, expressed in his attitude to friends and later, in his willingness to sacrifice himself in the war. He was a sports fan, especially a soccer player, and played for the Maccabi youth team in Ramat Gan. In addition to his love of ball games, he loved the sea, and at every opportunity he would spend time on the beach, playing and swimming a lot. Over time, he decided to choose sports as a profession of life and planned to study physical education at the Wingate Institute and to train young athletes and sports lovers. In addition to sport, he worked in leisure time in music and painting, as he was gifted with special talent.
Dov was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of May 1971 and was assigned to the infantry corps, where he volunteered to serve in the Shaked Reconnaissance Unit. His parents were not happy about volunteering for the commando unit, and they asked him many times why he chose this unit, but he recognized the importance of his ability to serve in the unit he chose. He was a good soldier, and obedient, Dov participated in the braking battles against the Egyptians on the Sinai front and was originally supposed to remain in the rear as responsible, but he demanded a battle with his unit. On October 7, 1973, his unit fought on the sand dunes between Romney and Beluzah and was killed on the sand dunes by Egyptian commando soldiers, he was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving behind his parents and three brothers. After his fall, he was promoted to First Sergeant. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “During his service in the unit, Dov proved himself to be a responsible and punctual soldier, and as a result he was very reliable, and the tasks he was assigned were carried out efficiently and orderly. , And maintained contact with them throughout the service. ”
