Pessemnik, Noam (Bochko)
Son of Tova and Zvi, was born on January 1, 2828 in Jerusalem to parents who were pioneers of the Third Aliyah. He studied at the school for the children of workers in Tel Aviv and was attracted to the life of the village and continued his studies at the regional school at Kibbutz Givat Hashlosha, where he spent two years. Since this school had no practical continuity, it moved to the Mikveh Israel agricultural school. Where he could study agriculture in theory and practice as he wished. He was loved by his friends and stood out in his straight character. Noam excelled in all aspects of his studies and was also active in the school’s sports life. He completed his studies at Mikvah Israel with honors. At the beginning of the struggle against the British, he joined the ranks of the Palmach, was in Yagur and, more recently, in Ramat Yohanan, took part in various Hagana activities and was among the illegal immigrants. After two years of his full service in the Palmach, he asked to be released so that he could continue his agricultural training. But because of the worsening of the situation, he retracted his request and had only enough time to come home for a few days’ vacation. Noam was not a fighter and did not like them, but when he needed to, he went with a full Lev. He was most outstanding in fulfilling the tasks assigned to him and was known as a fighter and an excellent tour guide. On Friday, March 17, 1948, he participated in an ambush for the Arab convoy of weapons to Haifa, at the entrance to Kiryat Motzkin, and when he tried to take over a car, the car exploded and the explosion caused the death of the deceased.
