Paz (Zlotzewski), Yechiel
Yechiel, son of Rachel and Tzvi Yitzchak Zlotzewski, was born on March 7, 1943 in Tel Aviv. Yechiel was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of November 1962 and assigned to the Armored Corps. After completing basic training, he underwent a basic training course in the Armored Corps and was trained as a tank gunner. During the Yom Kippur War, Yechiel took part in the battles in the Sinai, and later fought in the battle of the Suez Canal. During the fighting he was hit by shrapnel but refused to be sent home for medical treatment. After that his tank was hit but he continued to fight. On the 26th of Tishrei 5734 (October 22, 1973), his unit was attacked by enemy aircraft and he was hit in the attack and killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He left behind a wife and three children, the youngest of whom was born after his death, a mother, two sisters and a brother. After his death, he was promoted to First Sergeant.
