Parisant, Leah (Ariella)


Daughter of Malka and Yaakov-Shmuel, was born on 13.3.1930 in the town of Dubova in the Carpathian region of Marmarosh district (then Czechoslovakia) and in 1937 immigrated to Israel with her parents who settled in Tel Aviv. After graduating from elementary school, she attended the “Talpiot Gymnasium” and from the age of 14 onward, everyone knew her special qualities. She was very talented and had a strong character and with a passionate desire to live in a truly free homeland she joined the Lehi underground, where she became known as “Ariela.” She acquired friends and movement, educated and trained them with talent and success for love of the land and social justice. When her brother was sentenced to imprisonment for possessing arms, her parents tried to remove her from the movement, but when she preferred to live outside their home, in the homes of friends who understood their spirit more In the winter of 1947 she immigrated to Israel & Shawls by order of Lehi headquarters. She participated in the battles of Tzuba, Malcha, Deir Yassin, Lipata, and other Lehi fighters, and she was active and courageous in a heroic struggle for the liberation of Jerusalem, and on her diary she expressed her thirst for life and beauty and the magic of the national vision. The day after the establishment of the State of Israel, was one of the first to conquer the city, and during the truce she went to visit her parents in Tel Aviv and return to service in Jerusalem.In her last days she was in charge of the weapons depot in the Lehi camp and perished in the explosion, The safety instructions, on the 19th of Tammuz 5708 (July 26, 1948). She was buried in Sanhedria in Jerusalem. On the 26th of Av 5711 (26.9.1951) she was transferred to the eternal military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
