Joseph (Yossi), son of Miriam and Aaron, was born on April 13, 1953 in Poland and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1957. He attended elementary school in Shdemot Dvora and from fifth grade continued his studies at the school The farmer “Kadouri”. After her immigration to Israel, the family settled in Moshav Shadmot Dvora, where Yossi grew up. According to his schoolmate, he was not a studious student, but thanks to his healthy logic he succeeded in subjects he had learned voluntarily. Even in elementary school, Yossi was active in society and was always at the center of things. At school he was considered one of the most outstanding sportsmen in general, and judo in particular. He practiced Judo relentlessly and relentlessly. Yes, he played a lot of football, which he was especially fond of. Yossi was short and firm, with a freckled face and a mischievous smile. Even though he looked small and childish, he was actually strong and muscular and had excellent physical fitness. He was quick and quick-responding and had an inner quiet. Yossi was a good friend and loyal to his friends and did not hesitate to share with a friend something he lacked, or to help a friend as much as he could. He loved adventures and loved life, while he hated sleeping a lot and loved working hard for hours. He was always very sensitive to the reactions around him and was very devoted to his sisters and his parents, whom he loved very much. While studying at the Kadouri School, he helped his parents with agricultural work, and before he was drafted into the army, he worked for several months in the farm, and during his vacations he also worked in various jobs. From his youth, he loved the farm very much and wanted to return to it and continue to develop it after he completed his regular service. Yosef was drafted into the IDF in early May 1971. After completing basic training and after completing his infantry commander course, he was assigned to the Golani infantry brigade, and his commanders saw him as a very good soldier, intelligent, He also served as commander of a platoon in the battalion, where he dealt before the Yom Kippur War on tours of the Gaza Strip, and in his opinion his commander wrote In the course that Yossi is sociable, he is willing to make an effort for others, with self-confidence and leadership skills. He knew fear, was sure of himself, relied on his subordinates and reassured him of his trust in him, and thanks to him his unit excelled in high morale.
