Raviv spent a short time working as a bank clerk, and he discovered his diligence and ability to perform works he had encountered for the first time in his life. In any event, he aspired to contribute from his skills to an elite combat unit. Finally, Raviv decided to volunteer for the paratroopers, but was disqualified due to a slight defect in his feet (Platafus). In the meantime, he missed the course of the captains, which had been opened a short time earlier, and against his will was sent to the Armored Corps in February 1981. Raviv tried to fight this assignment, and in this matter he wrote to the head of the Personnel Directorate, but when he was forced to serve in the corps he devoted himself to his new profession diligently and skillfully , As he devoted himself to the subjects he loved: Raviv underwent basic training and a tank course, and his commanders spoke about his perseverance and meticulousness in studying and operating the tank.In March 1982, Raviv Kors passed tank commanders and received the rank of sergeant, Shalom Hagalil and Raviv went with his unit (Kfir) to the war in Lebanon and the first baptism of fire He went through battles in the central sector, at the end of which the IDF reached the Beirut-Damascus highway. On September 16, 1982, Raviv was sent to participate in a breakout to West Beirut. At one point in the battle, the tank he commanded was hit by an RPG bomb. Raviv and Hatan-Kedah, Haim Aviel, were seriously injured. The tank overturned into the tunnel of an underground road. The crew rescued itself from the tank, and the gunner was sent to call for help. It was too late to come, and Raviv and his friends died of their wounds. He was 20 years old when he died. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. His commanding officer said: “Raviv, I did not know you for a long time, only two months, but it was enough for me to stand up for your extraordinary qualities, your deep personal integrity and your ability to function and lead. Raviv left behind his parents and two sisters – Eilat and Tzofit. His family commemorated him in a book he published, in which he described his character and short life story.
