Ofri, Shalom


Son of Meir and Miriam. He was born in 1939 in Yemen and immigrated to Israel in 1956. Shalom studied in vocational training in Ashkelon and during his free time he studied in writing at the British Institute – “Matriculation.” He was drafted into the IDF in November 1957 and after completing his service was He goes on reserve service. When the Six-Day War broke out, he was called back to the flag. On the first day of her battles, on the 5th of Iyar 5727 (June 5, 1967), he fell in a battle in the outskirts of Gaza after he had fulfilled his order to jump from the armored company’s armored half-track, Was buried in the military emergency cemetery in Bari and was later transferred to the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, and his name was mentioned in a booklet published by his brigade and issued by his battalion.
