Noy-Man, Yair (“Yeled”)

Yair, son of Avraham-Yitzhak and Yaffa Noy-Man, was born on February 11, 1942 in Tel Aviv. When he was drafted into the IDF in November 1959 he volunteered for the Israel Air Force, where he took a flight training course, and from the day he received the flying wings, he served in the IDF until the day he fell. On the day of the outbreak of the Six-Day War he returned twice from the bombing of Egyptian enemy airfields and embarked on a third incursion from which he did not return any more. He left behind a six-month-old baby and also a pregnant wife. Only three months later the bitter day came when his body was returned to his homeland, which he loved so much and for which he sacrificed his soul, Yair was buried at the Kiryat Shaul Military Cemetery. Five months after he fell, his son named Yair Yinon, was born.
