Nino, Ephraim


Son of Rivka and Leon, was born in 1927 in Vidin, Bulgaria. In 1947 he immigrated to Eretz Israel and joined Kibbutz Mizra, first as a member of a youth movement and as a member of a kibbutz in 1947. He worked in agriculture in 1947. At the end of 1947, when Arab harassment of the Jewish community began following the UN General Assembly resolution, To enlist. When he enlisted, he asked to move to Gush Etzion and was sent there. Ephraim was a machine gunner and also served as a driver. He participated in the battles in Revadim, Kfar Etzion, and Masuot Yitzhak, he fell on the 4th of Iyar (12-13.5.1948) in Kfar Etzion during the transfer of the wounded after the heavy attack of the Legion forces on the block on May 12, 1948. On the 17th of Cheshvan 5710 (17.11.1949) he was transferred to eternal rest, together with the rest of the victims of the Gush, at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
