Neumann, Peter
Son of Valeria and Hermann. He was born on November 15, 1947 in Hungary and immigrated to Israel with his family in the year 5717. He spent his first three years in Hungary. He later studied at the Netivim Elementary School in Kiryat Haim and in the local vocational high school. Peter was drafted into the IDF in the middle of February 1966 and was assigned to the Artillery Corps, where he began his service as a gunner and continued as a noncom. In the Six Day War he fought with the unit to which he belonged. When he completed his regular service, he volunteered for the career army. In the midst of the War of Attrition, he joined an artillery unit as a noncommissioned officer, and later as deputy commanding officer. In the Yom Kippur War he fought with his unit in the Golan Heights in the southern sector. The unit took part in the braking battles at the level and suffered many severe losses. After the war, he moved to serve in the Matavim unit, and in 1976 he moved to the newly formed Egged, where he served as a vehicle officer, and was appointed commander of the camp.
