Neewirt, Eitan


Eitan, son of Leah and Hanan, was born on Kibbutz Sde-Nehemiah on November 1, 1943. He studied at the elementary school in Sde-Nehemia and later studied at the vocational high school in Kibbutz Afikim. Eitan was recruited to the IDF in the middle of July 1962 and volunteered for the Nahal Brigade, and after completing his basic training he served in a Nahal infantry battalion. At the beginning of February 1965 Eitan was discharged from the regular army and assigned to a reserve unit of the infantry in the Northern Command. In this unit he took a machine gun course and participated in the battles of the Six-Day War. After marrying Zehava, a daughter of Kiryat Shmona, he left the kibbutz and moved to Nazareth Illit. He worked in the military industry and was considered a diligent and diligent worker. On May 12, 1970, his daughter Nitzanit was born, and her birth made him very Simcha. During the Yom Kippur War, his unit participated in the battle against the Syrians in the Golan Heights. On January 2, 1974, Eitan was wounded in the battles of the War of Attrition that took place in the Tel Fares area. He died of his wounds on 24.1.1974 and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Sde Nehemia. Survived by a wife and daughter, parents, brother and sister. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant.
