Ben Shifra and David. Born on 24 May 1967 in Petah Tikva and raised in Kfar Saba. His first years were in the Zalman Aran elementary school, he was a good student, very disciplined and quiet, he never offered himself, but his friends always recommended him for everything, and he did everything perfectly. His good hands and aesthetic sense combined, and he became the ‘painter of the class.’ His ability in the field of art made him famous, and more than once teachers from other classes came to ask Shalom for making signs and posters. He continued his studies at the Sharett Brigade for about three years, and later studied at the Air Force Technical School in Haifa and was trained as an electrical technician In the middle of March 1986 he was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces and was assigned to the air force. After completing his studies, he moved to serve at the Air Force base as a technician in control equipment and electro-optics. He served in a small team that engaged in daily operational activity. He spent the entire period of his military service in this unit and even served three months in the regular army. On the 18th of Tammuz 5749 (21.7.1989) he fell while fulfilling his duties and was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kfar Sava. Survived by his parents, brother and sister – Amnon and Anita. In his letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “… Shalom was one of the best soldiers in the division and played a very important part in the system as an electro-optics technician. , And was appointed to head a team in his field. ” Two weeks before his death, he was awarded the rank of Staff Sergeant, and his memory was immortalized in a sculpture workshop in Kfar Sava, where scholarships were awarded to outstanding students.
