Moshe, Amnon


Son of Hatun and Yitzhak, was born on 28 May 1962 in Jerusalem. As a child, his parents moved to Moshav Agur, in the Judean Hills. Amnon studied at the State Religious School in Srigim, and graduated with honors. Amnon was kind to his teachers and friends. He wanted to study in the electrical profession and continued to study at the First School in Beit Shemesh, where professional studies were combined with preparation for a matriculation certificate and stood out as a diligent student. His immediate family had little knowledge of the conditions of his service, nor did he tell them when he was sent to a squad commanders’ course. Amnon completed his basic training course and the course of the squad commanders, and on January 28, 1982, he was promoted to Corporal. He was assigned to serve as a sergeant in the school for sergeants with the rank of sergeant, when Amnon was transferred to an operational unit. At the beginning of June 1982, a unit of armored personnel carriers was transferred to the base for training and training for continued operational activity. On 17 Tamuz, July 8, 1982, when he was busy cleaning his APC, an explosive device exploded in an armored personnel carrier and two soldiers were killed, including Amnon, and six other soldiers were wounded in this accident. His commanders noted him after his death: “He was a quiet, modest force, acted wisely, was diligent and disciplined.” After he fell, Amnon was promoted to the rank of sergeant. Amnon was laid to rest on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He left behind his parents, five brothers and two sisters. He was 20 years old.
