He was assigned to one of the courses of the Air Force Technical School in Haifa, and later served in Ramat David, in Squadron 110. He was later assigned to Squadron 109. For him, the significance of wearing the uniform was profound: he enjoyed a sense of belonging to the framework, After his discharge from the IDF, Ariel found work at the Israel Electric Corporation, a team that built electricity poles. But for Ariel it was only a matter of time before he took the next step. Two years later, he underwent a pistol shooting course and trained himself for temporary security work, with the real aim of being a police officer. In June 1996, Ariel enlisted in the police and took a basic police course. He was assigned to work at the Taybeh police station, joined patrols with the old police and studied the work with great pleasure and interest. He knew that sooner or later his place would be in the traffic police, and he would join the traffic police after his regular patrols in the Taibe police station had ended. Ariel knew that the movement could contribute more and perhaps even bring about a change in the difficult situation on the roads. As always, this time he had a purpose, and he was aiming to fulfill it.
