Moran, Shahar-Reuven


Son of Yael and Abraham. He was born on the 26th of Adar 5736 (March 26, 1976) in Moshav Ein Ayala, on the Carmel coast. Brother Neta, six years older than him, and Ayalon, who is six years younger than him. Shahar was a blond baby, blue-eyed, plump and smiling. He began his studies at the regional school in Kerem Maharal and from there moved to the “Reali” school in Haifa, where he became curious and interested in exploring everything. He did not make any effort to learn, and his teacher told him that he was “a secret that does not lose a drop.” The adults found him often conversational because he was sharp and witty, and from an early age he developed his independence and insisted on his opinion. In 1992, for his excellence in studies, he was elected to represent the state on behalf of his school and was sent to the United States, where he spent six months as an activist in Beki Who returned to Israel and graduated from the Leo Baeck high school in biology, and was a wonderful and talented young man who lived his life at a murderous pace, wanted to taste everything and take advantage of every moment. He loved to live, and he did it with all his senses, music, art and books, accompanied him everywhere, even when he was in the army, at every moment of leisure – in the tank, in training or before bed – he was accompanied by the guitar and books he loved, Sports and recreation: He rode horses, played basketball, surfed the waves and spent time in clubs. His house and personality were the force that attracted and entwined his many friends. A piece of Shahar’s letter to his girlfriend attests to his integrity and honesty: “My child, I imagine you are already twisting your nose at the word ‘mine’ and thinking of negative words like commitment, belonging, etc., but this title makes me feel good I have always loved writing, and in the last year my love for reading and writing has taken on a new character, mature and much more satisfying … Once it is over, either for you or for me, then the connection will be interrupted. Mercy, or convenience, conscience or unpleasantness … “At the beginning of April 1995 Shahar enlisted in the army and chose to serve in the Armored Corps. He did his basic training in the Uvda cliffs and went on a professional track as a liaison officer in the Sayarim camp. He was assigned to a tank training course and was sent to the officers’ training course and was dismissed five days later because of his determined desire to instruct in the camp ” Sayarim “together with his good friend, Yoni. After being dismissed from the course, he was placed as a tank commander in Battalion 75. In the battalion, he left for Lebanon and was stationed with a single tank at an infantry post in the eastern sector, and was very fond of his soldiers and commanders. On March 30, four days after his twenty-first birthday, on his way to the base for a Shabbat holiday, he returned to his base on the Golan Heights, A man was seriously injured in a traffic accident, from a military vehicle used by an IDF officer. For two days he lay unconscious, but the doctors’ efforts to save him failed. On the morning of the 23rd of Adar 5757 (April 1, 1997), Shahar died of his wounds. In the same accident, First Sergeant Roy Tal also fell. In Shahar’s wallet, next to his driver’s license, a certificate attesting to his membership in the ADI association was found, which commands his organs to be donated.Remo for transplantation. Shahar was laid to rest in the Haifa military cemetery. Survived by his parents, sister and brother, who died three years later of a Lev defect. After his death he was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant. In his eulogy for Shahar, his commander said: “In Lebanon, together with the company, you carried out difficult and arduous employment, in which you succeeded in demonstrating the highest professional ability I knew.” Shachar’s friends eulogized him on his grave: “Shachar, in everything you touched on life, was the best and the most perfect aspiration for every action.” You were always the “good” and the “responsible” among us. No one can, really … want someone who will not be with us anymore, but will always stay with us forever … “. In a letter of consolation to the bereaved family, Chief of Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak wrote: “Shahar, of blessed memory, served as a tank commander in the 7th Brigade’s battalion, and was described by his commanders as a soldier with high professional ability. Shachar showed a sense of humor and was able to gather his friends around him even in difficult moments. “The battalion commander wrote to the family:” Your son, Shachar, came to us in the family of the young, excited and motivated Ramah battalion. Commanders Course. Shahar joined the Kfir company before operational employment in Lebanon. In this employment, Shachar, with all the commanders and soldiers of the Kfir Company, received great praise from all ranks of the military command. Shachar demonstrated outstanding leadership skills during his tenure as commander of the team, which included veteran tank commanders and veteran staff. The fighters of the Kfir Brigade and the Ramah Battalion took great pride in Shahar and his sweeping personality, which aroused great motivation among the battalion’s fighters before and during the operational employment. … Shahar, in his singularity, always knew how to raise his morale in the most unpleasant moments, especially by playing the guitar, which was always pleasant to listen to. … Dawn was a fine fruit, which you raised and educated. We, the family of the fighters of the “Rumah” regiment, were privileged to receive special fruit, with special education for the love of others and the love of the land.
