Mor, Avraham (Avi) Gabriel

Avraham (Avi) Gabriel, son of Rivka and Bechor Mor, was born in 1993. From the beginning of his studies he stood out as a good student and contributed to the class. In 2011, Avi enlisted in the IDF. He wanted to serve as a fighter, but because of the migraines from which he suffered from childhood, he served in the navy as a security guard in Eilat. During the service, Avi was promoted to the rank of sergeant. During Avi’s service, his mother took him to a private doctor and he found a drug that was not in the health basket that completely cured him of the migraines. Since then, Avi had a mission – to raise his profile to be a combat soldier in the Kfir unit. He sent requests and letters, but fell before he received an answer. On 30 Tishrei,4.10.2013, Avi died in a traffic accident. He was twenty years old. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Yehud cemetery. Survived by parents, two brothers and a sister. On the first anniversary of his death, a street was named after Avi and his friend, Aviv Sharabi, who was killed with him – Avi and Aviv Street.
