Moati, Yaakov (Kobi)

Son of Dalia and Nissim. He was born on 26 February 1976 in Ramle. The eldest son of his parents, brother Lipit. Kobi’s first years were spent in Ramle. A child full of joie de vivre, who often visited his grandparents who lived not far from his parents’ house. More than anything, Kobi enjoyed the dishes cooked by his great-grandmother, his mother’s mother, and liked to play with Papa and Mama, his father’s parents. The family moved to Rehovot and Kobi was well integrated into the “Shazar” elementary school and was discovered as a mature and curious student, who aspired to learn, taste and experience everything, and continued his studies at the “De Shalit” junior high school. He played basketball and aerobics throughout the years and played basketball and aerobics, and he was attracted to the Air Force Technical School in Haifa, where he became an outstanding student and was discovered as a natural leader. Kobi decided not to enlist in the IAF and asked to serve in the combat force November 1994, in the Armored Corps unit of the 500th Brigade, which later changed its name to “Battalion Haruv.” Kobi finished basic training and the course of the squad commanders with honors and became the first outstanding cadet in the course for commanders who did not belong to one From the Paratroopers, Golani, Nachal or Givati units. Kobi, who turned out to be a talented soldier, charismatic and motivated, loved military service very much, and at the beginning of his career he had a strong desire to go to an officers’ course. Kobi’s ambition came true and he went to the infantry officers course, which he almost finished as an outstanding graduate, and then returned to his unit, the Haruv battalion. Yael, the company clerk, remembers Kobi as an active and busy officer, whose company was his whole world. “I have so many pictures in your head that you run around, bring things, sign documents, go on patrols … Sometimes we found you and you a quiet corner, and we would talk about life.” Yael says that Kobi could smile in any situation: “No matter what situation “During his military service in May 1997, Kobi met Keren through a mutual friend and the two created an instant” click “that became love. Which lasted two years until he was killed: At the end of November 1997, Koby began his career as deputy commander in the unit. The ambitious officer was successful in his job, and received great sympathy among the cadets and staff. He did everything in order to succeed and march his soldiers to the best of good, and he encouraged them to read “we came, we saw, we won.” From there, he made his way to a company commander’s course. At the end of the course, when Kobi returned to the regiment, he took command of a regiment of recruits from the November 98 round, and with it he began the course. This route was cut short. On 26 May 1999, at the age of twenty-three, Kobi was killed while on duty in a training accident in the area of Hamam el Malih. Together with him fell Sergeant Eli Primovitz. Kobi was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Rehovot. After his death, he was promoted to the rank of captain: On the 30th day of Kobi’s death, his father eulogized him: “When we will stand at your grave, a beloved son / with us, every battalion of Haruv / We will be together with you all alone / Alone with the pictures and the room / Alone to deal with the break / In the time of work we will reach the body / activity will drive / But the Lev and the thoughts / other places are sailing / trying to examine what you would say / and about the sanity Guard / how and how to the bereaved family we joined / who elephantAnd who guessed that we were here? / We’ll always visit and talk to you / We’ll ask: Well, Kobi, what do you say? “After the death of Kobi, his family members are careful to accompany the company and to encourage the soldiers. “At the beginning of your service in the company, our son Kobi and Eli Primovitz commanded you, and that was their pride, but it was a tragedy that suddenly interrupted us. We try to guess what Kobi was saying at that time. He was certainly proud of you, saluting you and adding that ‘this is just the beginning, do not rest on the laurels and the continuation is not easy at all.’ “In the company’s yearbook, the family wrote:” We will try to write under Kobi’s inspiration, and so perhaps we will explain what Kobi was writing. You have passed a primary and dominant chapter in the military track, a central chapter that will be used by you in the regular army and certainly in the reserves. The way is long and the tasks are many, not easy and even complex and difficult … “Kobi left behind a long legacy of Torah and action, as an officer, leader and person. The feeling that you can always talk to you about everything, the energy and motivation that flowed in your quantity, the message that you broadcast that the sky is the limit, the pride of the unit and the poison you had in your blood, the ability to overcome every obstacle on the way. I wish to take the first journey on the way to growing a new generation of fighters into the IDF and the ‘ Haruv ‘- just as we were, you and I, at the beginning of our military career. You were a role model, a leader, a friend. Your heritage wondered at my feet, your image will always stand before my eyes. “You know, there are people who taught them to climb a tree, but also to fall from it,” she said. But you did not know what the concept meant to fall, because you just kept going and you just climbed up. And always what’s important to you is what’s higher. Today you are so up, so at the top of the tree, that it is already frightening to descend from it … “Inspired by the story of the” Jacob ladder “in Genesis, Fanny wrote to him: Jacob, however, was a reality, not a dream. / The same ladder descended from above / Cut your life / And you went on / accompanied by angels / Never gave up / Did not know enough! But when my angels came up / your hand lifted … want to stay with you in the past. The time that was not broken, but reality does not allow it, it does not change anything … This is how you were told that Jacob / warrior is then a warrior today / so you were told about Jacob / but you were a reality, not a dream. “On the day of communion with the fallen” The family says: “On the day of the communion with the fallen of the carob, we lost a beloved son.” / Baram and Barak, who beat us, “We were born to our son.” The days are the feeling of desolation. / Our beloved Koby loved the service, and on this mission he went and did not return / Many days of sadness and few days of joy / We see a part of the family / Kobi Benno and the rest of the fallen.
