Idan was a sociable person, nurtured his connections and showed genuine concern. He belonged to the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement and worked very hard for it. At the end of his 12 years of studies, he enlisted for the 13th year of national service, and was a counselor in the movement at the Kiryat Sharet kennel. During the service year, he met with Tomer Kedar, who became close friend, and met with Tomer Kedar. Before the induction, Idan spent a trip to Argentina, visiting relatives and traveling. At the end of November 1995, Idan enlisted in the IDF, and together with his fellow members of the “Tomer” core, he enlisted in the Nahal Brigade, where he was trained and trained as a combat soldier. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, Chief of Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak wrote: “Idan served as a combat soldier in the engineering division of the Nahal Brigade and was described by his commanders as a disciplined and responsible soldier who performed his duties with skill and dedication. On the 30th anniversary of his death, the family published a memorial booklet entitled “We must see evil in order to fight it. In the booklet, milestones from different periods of Idan’s life and the farewells of relatives and friends.
