Miller, Chaim
Son of Simcha and Yocheved. He was born on December 11, 1938 in Tel Aviv. Graduated from the Geula Elementary School. Showed extra affection for sport. During his free time he would come to his parents’ aid to alleviate the economic distress at home, but at the same time he also sought to expand his education and enroll in an Arab high school. But he did not know that he was calm and had to find work at the Dan garage. This place of work brought him to the gates of the vocational training school of the “Hanoar Haoved” in the name of Maxime Fine, where he studied in the Department of Mechanics. From childhood he had shown signs of loving people and being willing to help others. This willingness was also reflected in his willingness to call for volunteering in the settlements. Despite his youth, he was the first to answer and open a list on the notice board in the garage. After he had overcome the garage’s refusal to accept him (because of his youth), he directed his words to his mother and said to her: “It’s impossible, so few and so few there … We must help them … before I go to the army and help them wherever I can. “My mother, do not worry about me, everything will be fine …” In these words, he parted from her and volunteered for maintenance at the Carmia farm in the south, where he fell on the 27th of February, 1956, while fulfilling his duties. He was laid to rest in the civil cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. His memory was raised in a letter to members of the General Federation of Hanoar Haoved in Israel. The Tel Aviv branch of Hanoar Haoved also published a booklet in his memory.
