Miller, Avraham Avi

Ben Naomi and Ezekiel, brother of Tali and Yael. He was born on December 18, 1970 in Bnei Brak. As a boy, my father was a music lover and played in the Raanana Orchestra with a flute and a saxophone. Avi began his studies at the “State B” elementary school in Ra’anana, and graduated from the Ostrovsky High School in the real world. Prior to joining the IDF, he volunteered as a field school instructor in the Negev Highlands, where the principal of the high school he attended and the class teacher told him that he was a special character, a talented young man, a good student, broad minded and socially acceptable. At the beginning of February 1990, my father enlisted in the IDF for an aviation training course and after five months moved to serve as a combat soldier in the Paratroopers Company of the paratroopers. In 1990, Avi underwent a course for riflemen, and a year later he completed a sergeant course, and in March 1992 Avi completed a course for infantry officers and a year later joined the career army. My father fell in a battle in Lebanon on the 9th of Tammuz 5753 (9.7.1993), with the fire of terrorists on the Sujud outpost, which he commanded, and with him fell Sergeant Shahar Refaeli, Corporal Daniel Ray and Corporal Jonathan Boyden. The military cemetery in Ra’anana was twenty-three years old, leaving behind his parents and two sisters, and his sister, Yael, was killed seven years later in a letter of consolation to the family: “Avraham was an exemplary commander, Under fire, with a very high personal level, which gave him a feeling and a good atmosphere. “In another letter of condolence, the unit commander wrote:” Throughout the period in which he served as a soldier and commander, The only way to continue the path of my father, who was cut off by his father, the path of a son of the land who fell in a considerable land, for the safety and security of the inhabitants of the country. North. ” At the end of the shiva, Yuri Sela, Tali’s husband, wrote: “At dawn / moonlight did not stop on the day my brother died / Wind in the Negev Mountain / Blowing / Even now / Between day to night / Gray moment / / Without roots / Tomb. / Malachi Ya / Immigrants, Immigrants / minor ladder. / Developed Shaarei Chessed / 2 PM / my brother will come. On the third anniversary of my father’s fall, the family held a memorial service, in which a piece written by Rafi Kadishson in memory of my father was played by the Symphonette Orchestra when Peter Wertheimer plays the saxophone. From his mother’s words on this evening: “Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav said: ‘The coin of melody that lasts the soul of the listener after the melody, My father played the flute, the saxophone, his loves, his yearning, his variety. “The saxophone, with its bright, strong, toned tones, was so good at expressing it. The movements of the body flowed and merged with the movements of the melody. In the simple and delicate flute he sang the voice of the heart. He brought his music to every place he had. In the desert, on the trails and in the mountains, when he was at the Negev Highland Field School, he packed the flute in his backpack, and there, from the vast expanses, his music came out. “Another was a trip to the ancient Negev ways, which took place on Hanukkah. My mother’s words, Naomi, clarify my father’s choice and interest in ways: “Ways are a fascinating combination of culture, man, plant and animal. A path is a guest, a direction path, a connection and a route. Perhaps these were the concepts that guided my father, who would pass through – travel. Who was looking for waysNews and originality to reach his goals, paving the way to the hearts of people, which made him a way of life of searching, of walking towards a challenge. Who knew how to behave both in the straight path and in the way of joking, which Eretz Yisrael preceded to Torah. Through which the road was not always only the main road, it had its own way – its own private – but its path was integrated with the way of the many and public roads. His ways were pleasant and his paths were peaceful. May his peace be the unwritten will, but her voice will be heard. “His family established a memorial site at www.aviel.co.il.
