Milikovsky, Moshe

Moshe, son of Rachel and Asher Milikovsky, was born on December 10, 1931, in Slonim, Poland, and immigrated to Israel at the age of three. In Kfar Saba, he was educated. Moshe was active in social life and served as a member of the student committee in the Mikvah Israel school. Upon enlistment, Moshe was sent immediately to the defense of the Western Galilee, where he was stationed at the Ayalon farm and where he spent the period of siege and liberation battles in the Western Galilee. During the first truce he completed a wireless course. Despite his parents’ pleading, Moshe refused to take advantage of the fact that he was born in 1931. He explained his reasons: “I wish there would be a reason for my life and my death, and the sweetest death is for the homeland!” In the battles of the ten days he fought in the Galilee and fell in Tarshiha on the 12th of Tamuz, 19.7.1948. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya. His parents and friends published a special booklet “With His Memory”.
