Meshulam, Avraham


Son of Mazal and Yefet-Dovid, born in Tamuz 1930 in Yemen. When he was about four years old, his family immigrated to Israel and settled in Tel Aviv. First he studied in the regular Talmud Torah and continued at the Talmud Torah school for Yemenites on Kalisher Street. When the declaration of the establishment of the State of Israel was announced, Avraham was drafted into the ranks of the Irgun. June 11, 1948, the day when the first truce had to take effect, an IDF unit arrived at Tel Hashomer to conduct a joint patrol with our men. When the IDF unit returned to its base, it was attacked by an enemy ambush.
A message was received from position No. 2 that they were surrounded and then the telephone line was cut off.
